7 Things for 7 Days (fashion edition)
Your favourite series is back and just in time for the heatwave with some new and noteworthy finds
Welcome back to your favourite Substack! On today’s agenda, I am sharing 7 Things for 7 Days, fashion edition. I have been really inspired of late by a lot of cool and exciting new things from the chicest fish bags to a pair of simple (yet elevated) pair of summer pants. So, without further ado lets enter my fashion edition of 7 things.
1. The Vin Store
Yes, this is in fact the fishiest of bags. I recently discovered The Vin Store and cannot stop thinking about these gorgeous bags. Each bag is handcrafted which means no two pieces are alike. I love that the bag has a vintage feel and feels like the ultimate summer and holiday accessory. I am still very much in favour of the ocean-themed trend and these fishy bags are certainly a nod to that. They also have a tin of sardines and tomatoes, if you are looking for a different style or shape. I also really appreciate how each piece can be worn day to night. You can shop them here or check out their Instagram @thevin.store
2. Tory Burch Mirror Dress
Staying on the theme of slightly wackier pieces- this insanely gorgeous Tory Burch dress is something I will never stop lusting over. I love the two-piece style making it appear as a skirt and top, which it sadly is not. However, the vibrant fuchsia pink is sure to brighten up any summer day or evening event. I would personally wear this with a simple pair of sandals and a huge stack of chunky silver bangles. The dress could definitely be a great wedding guest or event option and I think Tory Burch is seriously underrated…
3. Celine Clogs
Ok, before you think how ugly these shoes are, I am here to persuade you that these are the CHICEST form of a clog you can find. These insane Celine clogs are, in my opinion, to die for. In all honestly, these aren’t really clogs per say, they are more of a mule. But, if you are bored of seeing the infamous The Row mules then these might just hit the spot, albeit at a cost (but cheaper than The Row!).
4. J Crew Pants
Inspired by the legendary Leandra Medine and her killer outfit, number #4 is a pair of J Crew linen pants with a twist. I am very much for the sheer summer pant, especially when they are in a city environment. Controversial, perhaps. However, pairing such a summer staple with a baby graphic tee (some of my favourites are here, here, here and here). I would wear these with a simple loafer, ballet flat or flip flop. This is a great summer in the city look which could easily be taken to the beach. Swap out a baby tee for a simple cami.
5. Red Dragon Diffusion Bag
If you know me, you know that I love red. I especially love this red Dragon Diffusion woven bag. Dragon Diffusion bags are a popular go-to summer bag for all my fellow fashionistas. The woven leather style is a really simple way to add texture into an outfit. My mother has a beautiful brown tote which she religiously sports every time the weather starts to warm up. This red version is my favourite and I really need to get my hands on it before it sells out!
6. Sandra Alexandra Necklace
I am a jewellery aficionado. I basically collect necklaces and other pieces of jewellery. They feel like a sentimental accessory that has the ability to carry memories and stories. A lot of my jewellery has become amassed from places I have visited and thus, each time I wear the piece I am reminded of where I acquired it. Anyway, this leads me to this fabulous mixed metal necklace from Sandra Alexandra. I love the mariner link and contrast of gold and silver, making it the ultimate piece for those who can never make their mind up which metal they prefer.
7. The Jelly Flip Flop
You may have noticed that the shoe of the summer is the flip flop…Another controversial footwear option, and not for the fainthearted. I acknowledge that wearing flip flops around a city like London or New York is daunting and maybe even repulsive. Walking around with a fully exposed foot amid the dirt is not everyone’s cup of tea. I hear you. But, I also really love the flip flop’s ability to be so versatile and it’s ability to transform any outfit. Whether you are wearing a pair of jeans, an evening dress or even a pair of tailored trousers, the flip flop just works. It sort of feels like the wrong shoe theory but trust me when I say that you need to get your hands on a pair. I personally will be opting for a classic Haviana or (my new obsession) a jelly style flip flop, made famous by (once again) The Row. I love these, these and these.
Et voila! Thats a wrap on 7 Things for 7 Days. I missed this series and hope to bring it back. You can shop all the links on my ShopMy or, follow me on Instagram. I am always welcome to suggestions and more than happy to answer any fashion dilemmas, so drop me a message or comment.
